Sunhillow Farms will be bringing mushroom, tinctures, chocolate treats and decor!

@liquidgardenjuiceco will have their fresh pressed juice and protein balls

T3 Farms will have tinctures, teas, eggs and honey and horseshoe nail rings!

@bartoncoffeeroasters will have their coffee, brewed hot on site and bagged coffee, with some baked goods!

Drake’s Fruitcake will have their famous fruitcake, along with leather crafts and knitwear

Flory Family Farms will also have their famous sausage biscuits with their other hot food! As well as a variety of crafts!

We’ve got produce, meat, baked goods, knit items, crafts, decor, HOT FOOD and so much more! There will be 40+ Lawrence Farmers’ Market vendors in attendance!

We will also have kids crafts, musical groups, entertainment and MORE!

Be sure to bundle up and come down to 1930 Harper St. At the Douglas County Fairgrounds Open Pavilion Saturday, December 9th to shop for all your holiday needs! See you there!

Customers of Lawrence Farmers Market are looking for fresh, local food and agricultural products in a welcoming community gathering atmosphere. The Lawrence Farmers Market is renowned for its high quality offerings and diverse products available.

When customers try to plan their weekly visit and grocery list, they look for a centralized location to learn about who is at the market and what to expect. Our current website is difficult to navigate to find accurate information to make decisions and include local foods in our customers’ budgets.

As the market grows and adds volunteers, sponsors, donors, and even more vendors, having increased accessibility for everyone is vital. $5,000 will help build a user-friendly website through creating multiple portal accesses and improving overall aesthetic and user experience.

Now thru December 31st, donate to our #dccfgiving4good campaign and help us raise money to address this problem PLUS you’ve contributed to the long-term financial stability of our organization by providing crucial matching dollars for our DCCF endowed fund.

LFM’s Director of Development Emily Lysen and Board members Jill Elmers, Phil Holman-Hebert, and Sarah Salzman spent the morning with @livewell_douglascounty @dccfoundation and many friends, partners, and colleagues celebrating Emily receiving an award from LiveWell Douglas County - the Healthy Foods For All 2023 Culture of Health Champion.
Emily has worked with HFFA on two grants for Douglas County this year through @bcbsks Pathways to a Healthy Kansas. One grant for LFM for programming and one for the Douglas County Food Policy Council for paid stipends for council members.

We also want to show a throwback photo of the same award LFM won in 2021 for running Triple Up Food Bucks for SNAP recipients! We are making waves with local food access here in Douglas County!

Also…peep the last slide video!! We were awarded another grant today too! We are proud recipients of the DCCF Livewell Community Grant for a Double Up Protein Bucks program! Can you guess what that means for our SNAP users??

🎁Holiday Farmers Market is fast approaching on December 9th and we are still needing some volunteers to help us out!
🅿️Our biggest need is with Parking on the big day!
We have slots available from 7am all the way until 5pm, ranging from 1 hour of help to 2 hours of help! And as you know - more hands make the workload lighter!
🙌Help us make the Holiday Farmers Market run super smooth and have fun with a wonderful crew of people!

(This is going out to a few school groups so snag your spot now)

We will have a Check-In/Check-Out station with hot coffee/cocoa and hand/foot warmers for all volunteers.

Each year, Lawrence Farmers Market vendors donate over 7000 pounds of locally grown, processed, and produced food to Just Food.
This weekend you have a chance to help make a HUGE impact for both of our non-profits!
Buy locally from our vendors and donate directly to @justfoodkansas at their Cruising Cupboard at our FINAL market of the 2023 season.
We typically have so few vendors by the end of the season, let’s buy them out of what they have left! Whether you’re stocking up for yourself for the winter, prepping for a big holiday meal, or donating to our community’s most food insecure members — join us this Saturday to STUFF THE BUS with local foods!

Buy one item for yourself and buy one to donate to others.

Think: meats, eggs, squash, flour, jams, and so much more!

And of course Just Food will happily accept regular pantry donations (canned goods, boxed goods, period products, diapers) during this time too!

🍄Farmer Greg Perry started commercially growing

🍄Farmer Greg Perry started commercially growing mushrooms in 2020 and began Lawrence-based Sunhillow Farm. “I always wanted to grow my own food and help provide for my community” Greg says. Sunhillow Farm joined Lawrence Farmers Market as a Vendor Member in 2021.

⚗️Greg strives for the best quality mushrooms, using the best natural mushroom food for substrate. He grows them all himself from his homestead and you’ll see him joined occasionally by his partner Jen Distlehorst at the Saturday Morning Market. This year, Sunhillow Farm added double extract Lion’s Mane tinctures to their offerings alongside their fresh mushrooms.

Sunhillow Farm grows mushrooms year-round and grows a variety of oyster mushrooms as well as Lion’s Mane. Greg works “with the genetics with transfer selection and cloning”. Currently you can find King Blue Oysters, Pink Oysters, Venetian Oysters, Lion’s Mane, and Lion’s Mane tinctures available weekly at our Saturday Morning Market in the West Lot - right inside the entrance!

🍄Our scavenger hunt this week is for mushrooms! Our two mushroom vendors grow their mushrooms indoors so they are available year-round as opposed to many of the area’s foraging mushrooms only available in the Spring and Fall.
