We’ve Been Awarded a Grant from Kansas Healthy Food Initiative!

Big News for the future of LFM!

We are excited to announce the Lawrence Farmers Market has been awarded over $25,000 for a Kansas Healthy Food Initiative’s Predevelopment Technical Assistance Grant Program!

Combining this grant with funding from the City of Lawrence's Parks Recreation and Culture Department and Douglas County's Sustainability Office we will complete a feasibility study for site selections and cost estimates for a new permanent location, including community outreach.  We submitted to the City of Lawrence's 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Plan to include our permanent location and pavilion structure project into the city's budget for public improvements. While we were unfunded initially, the Commissioners want to prioritize our project and find funding to make it happen. Read more about it in this LJWorld article HERE.
